WELCOME TO OUR CHALLENGE

Welcome to Mercy Prayer Center's first-ever opportunity for EVERYONE to share their energies, gifts and talents to benefit Mercy Prayer Center. We HOPE in the fact that this will be the first ANNUAL "Talent Challenge". Our goals are threefold:

  1. Raise Awareness for Mercy Prayer Center and for Spirituality
  2. Build Community - generate friends, make our day and our neighborhood a little nicer
  3. Raise Much Needed Funds to support Mercy Prayer Center programs and services

WHY A TALENTS CHALLENGE?

We would eventually like to recruit as many as 100 "Talent Volunteers" who will agree to create a personal project to raise funds to support Mercy Prayer Center, to build communiity and to raise awareness for our ministry.

These projects should also help build community, that is, to enhance the community we live in, get people out and involved, have fun, make friends, make someone else's day a little easier, share love, celebrate life.

At our kickoff on April 30, we will present each "Talent Volunteer" with a red envelope with a crisp new $50 bill (Talent Grant) to help fund their project. As a Talent Volunteer, you will be given seven weeks to multiply your talents and return with your stories and proceeds. We will tithe 10% of our proceeds to the Water for Sudan project, a Rochester, NY based charity that drills freshwater wells for the people in the southern areas of Sudan.

CELEBRATION OF STORIES
TO BE HELD JUNE 18

We Want Your Story

More than 60 "Talent Volunteers" are in the midst of conducting forty different Talent Projects to benefit Mercy launched for its Parable of the Talents Challenge. Projects range from sales of goodies like gourmet chocolate sauce, kitchen towels and Hosta plants to in-home concerts, card parties and lasagna dinners.

You are invited to attend our "Celebration of Stories" on Thursday, June 18, 7:30 PM at St. Anne's Parish Hall, 1600 Mt. Hope Ave in Rochester. As part of this event, we will hear from representatives of Water for Sudan who will tell us about their mission and receive our 10% Tithe Gift from our proceeds.

We would like to publish a "Book of Stories" for our celebration and are soliciting a story from everyone who participated. Just Send us an Email and let us know all about your project.
